WEBB B. GARRISON Since coming to McKendree College in June 1957, Dr. Garrison has begun a vigorous campaign to make the college truly a school where education is a Christian adventure. Lights have burned late in his office as he has worked to solve the many problems facing the 131-year old institution. History was made on February 5 when the famous McKendree bell came down from it ' s resting place in the steeple of the 102- year-old Marion Bothwell Chapel. The 60 foot steeple shattered as it fell 80 feet to the ground. The picture on the right shows the bell resting on the ground. The one below shows students collecting souvenirs.
