PSSSSSSSm iH : MCKENDREE COLLEGE LEBANON, ILLINOIS We of rhe 1957-58 McKendrean staff proudly dedicate this annual to our new president. Dr. Webb B. Garrison. Although he came to us only a short time ago, he has captured the hearts of the students, faculty, and friends of the college. Our Dr. Garrison fulfills ever} ' qualification expected of a college president. He has a fine mind for business and he has proved to be the spiritual leader needed. Through his well-deserved reputation as a writer and speaker, he has won many new friends and Crusaders for McKendree. His voice is of southern humor and kindness, yet his words are a challenge. He has shaken our minds into the realization that man ' s thoughts and natural creative abilities become stagnant if daily self-evaluation is forgotten; that man must adjust his thinking to be in harmony with the ever-chang- ing world. Dr. Garrison, being a humble man, puts one at ease while talking to him. His experiences as a family man gives him a natural understanding of the college student. He is sympathetic toward the frustrations, the seeking of hidden desires, and event- ual outcome of the young adult. His gentle, de.manding, disturbing words of wisdom provoke in us a desire to fulfill our pur- pose for living and to seek a world with Christ as the center. Indeed, we thank God for sending Webb Garrison. He is the prophet long prayed fo r, the Moses of McKendree, and the leader of McKendree ' s tomorrow. He shall lead us to unknown heights ... to our dreams and aspirations. FAMILY PORTRAIT From Left to Right: Dr. Garrison. Bill, Mrs. Garrison, Webb Jr., and Carol. President ' s Walk Clark Hall «.
