Today, there remains a class of 18845 tomorrow there shall be re- , membered a class of 1928, of '29, of '30, and of '31. Even if a member is gone, the x X ' class is there, and with it a power of tradition, of joys, and of sorrows, of suc- 1 cesses and of failures. The four classes are as four ages. The freshman lives first in the age of hope -4 X as idealistic as youth should be, and as enthusiastic. He comes to the high I school unacquainted, to a large extent, with the duties and life of the student. N Q However, he is willing to learn, even though he may be ridiculed by the sopho- mores. The age of the sophomore is still one of hope, an age more for action than for dreams. To the sophomore there are innumerable student activities. S He chooses one. Then he starts on a path leading to glory. ' To the junior comes the age of understanding. In the eye ofthe junior there ii is respect, a sympathy which he shows for the freshman. Social activities are 'K X more prominent in the junior's life. The senior is seen by the junior as one who g has attained his goal. ' 1 . . . - l ' E The age of achievement is for the senior. He has reached the topmost rung ,Q A of his high school ladder. It is the hope of his teachers that he go out into the ' F world prepared to take up his place to battle for an existence. If the senior has it not learned to sympathize, if he has no understanding for his fellow classmates, , then his education in high school has been a failure. Tomorrow, these classes will become alumni. Year after year the class 'I'-v.. . . . 'Y members will return to pay respect to their Alma Mater, to renew old acquaint- ances. When the last member passes, the class will live on, and it will be known b the famous men and women who raduated with it. A Y 8 Z So much to do: so little done! Ah! yesterday I saw the sun ' l.
