MCCRACKEN The Varsity substitutes were Vukmanic, Vogel, Weinberg, Layton, and Schroeder. Shortly after the close of the season the letter men met in the auditorium to elect S a captain and a manager for the coming year. They selected Albert Berquist, '29, E -- Captain, and Emil Johnson, '29, manager. Only six letters were awarded this PAV year. Those securing the coveted emblems were Captain Whitehead, Flynn, Berquist 3 . McDonnell, McCracken, and Manager Reuff. All these will graduate in June except 1 E Captain-elect Berquist and McCracken. n 4 X . SECOND TEAM MAKES FINE RECORD l I . T During the regular basketball season two high school teams represented the 'gm local school, the Varsity squad, and the second team. Each made a very reputable showing on the basketball floor. The second team played eleven games, winning eight and losing three. Several of the players proved that they will be fine timber Q . . 'V for the varsity squad next winter. - M M Mi v- Q . X - Tljouqh-a-mon X GIRLS TAKE UP BASKETBALL g One of the outstanding features of the girls' gym work this year was the work done in basketball. Shortly after the basketball season opened, Miss Meinert, in charge of physical education for the girls, organized three class teams. These class teams played a series of games with each other. Although this year was the first for X - girls' basketball, yet the games were well played. Each team showed some superior players. The Senior team proved to be the strongest of the group.
