Not only do language students gain at least a brief knowledge of the language they are studying, they also keep up with present happenings in the coun- tries where the language is spoken. Those who study languages improve their vocabularies, learn of the legends and customs of the peoples, and promote better understanding between American citizens and citizens of other countries. The rules of basketball, softball, and other sports are taught so that students can learn teamwork. Willing- ham has the distinct honor of having one of the top three Physical Education Depart- ments in Georgia. Last spring Willingham students participated in the Marine Physical Fitness Test and compared favorably with Miss Faulkner and Miss Turner prepare to play William Tell.
