Under the able direction of Mr. Armstrong, the McDowell A-Capella consisting of blended, mixed voices, has brought great enjoyment to all who have heard it. The past year's performances included programs for the Parent Teachers Association, numerous assemblies, and their annual operetta. f ' Y . Also aiding them in this year's accomplishments was Gary Dunsmore, their capable President, Connie Wagner was the Li- '- brarian, Jean Wildermuth the Secretary, and Sue Cross served as Treasurer. Their beautiful new room which is sound proof, elevated in tiers and equipped to capacitate a full Symphonic Choir, is re- garded as one of the main attractions of the school. lf you have heard lovely strains coming from the music room d riod, it was our A-Capella, an at any time during the secon pe organizatio n of which we can be proud. The Pep Band, under the able leadership of the Student Director, Gilbert Keinath, was made up of fifteen male members. This organization played for the Girard football game and stirred the students with their marches at the pep ral- lies. The Pep Band also supported our team by playing at the basketball games. The Girls' Chorus was under the direction of the following officers: Ann Holquist, Presidentg Carol Taylor, Vice Presidentg Carol Swiderski, Secretary-Treasurer. The girls participated in assemblies, performed on radio and television around Christmas time, and went Christmas Caroling.
