SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Standing: B. Smith. Seated, l. to r.: G. Shaw, J. Van Geem, G. Loomis. Signposts Along Big Hunting Ground Trail 1948-Papooseg plenty lost, Hidden under stacks of books. Wander around the wide open spaces of new corn land called Millcreek. 1949-Papooses get brand new lodge. Act very big and have two skating pow-wows, give out with a big war whoop called Christmas at Barney McGee's. 1950-Four plenty brave papooses start game of leader. First papoose, Don Godfrey, Second papoose, Bill Scott, Squaw who write, Donna Kallenbach, Papoose in charge of wampum, Don Hunter. 1951-Papooses now in main lodge, Millcreek High School. This year's war whoop entitled Leeve it to Peggyln. Little by little, this year led by Jean Lloyda, Bill Scott, Joan Waidley, and Brad Hindson, papooses organize war parties and learn to use weapons- basketballs and football. Little squaws learn to sing. Take care of hatchets and headdress at Christmas Festival. 1952-This last lap till we are qualified braves. Top redmen on totum pole are Jim Van Geem, Wallace Weise, Cynthia Norton, and Gert Loomis. This year's war whoop heap big success called Ever Since Eve. This last year for Big Chief Goodrich, him go to foreign land called Florida. New chief for time when us big braves , We give a pow- erful big and beautiful ceremonial dance for brother braves who leave to go away into the world. Heap plenty sad to see 'um go. 1953-This year Chief with many feathers is Jim Van Geem. Chief's helper, Bette Smith, Squaw Gwen Shaw in charge of tom-tom in big peace meetings, and Squaw Gert Loomis in charge of wampum. Last signpost. and we big, powerful braves. This year plenty busy. We serve up brew for football game. Animal war whoop called Brother Goose. We have party for al- most braves at teepee Youth Center. We sponsor night at heap big Tent Playhouse. We celebrate big Festival of St, Pat with a powerful war dance and our own big chief, Jim Van Geem, and big squaw, Gert Loomis, sit on ancient ancestral throne. Warriors go on many hunting parties this year. Almost-heap-big-braves give us a big farewell dance These are the signposts we have by-passed in our big hunt together. We have made many lasting warrior friends and have learned many hunting methods. We now leave the shelter of our big teepee to use these hunting methods as we travel our separate trails. 1231
