SENIOR PLAY Shakespeare may have been the first proponent of a play within a play, but the Senior Class did well in that line too when it produced that baffling, perplexing, be- wildering mystery farce entitled, Murder in Rehearsal. The romantic leads of this performance were Don Brindle and Sally Schwartz who co-starred with Dalton Lei- bold as the Sheriff. The powerful supporting cast included Audree Adams, Sallie Lud- wig, Alberto Roberts, Dwight Wilkins, Ken Stewart, Jim Dudley, Sandra Ambro, Janice Hecker, Judy Epply and Ron Palmer. The student director of this unique production was Carol Christensen. Mrs. Hahn, the coach, made one extremely clever inovation in the play, i. e., using the players own names in the play proper while using stage names in the play within the play flf this sounds confusing you should have seen the playJ. Plays may come and plays may go, but this is one play which, Whether because it was so unusual, or because of the cast, or because of the coaching, has imprinted it- self indelibly on the minds of all who witnessed its execution. 373

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The dream of almost every student who enters Millcreek is to become a member of the National Honor Society. Each year the faculty elects the members of the Na- tional Honor Society on the basis of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Typical of the foresight of the class of '52, the Editor, Bob McChesney, the Busi- ness Manager, Jim Yochim, and the other staff heads were elected in our Junior year. The experience acquired that year enabled us to begin to create this Kaldron without delay in our Senior year. Then began the struggle to select the printer, engraver, photographer, and most difficult of all-the theme. Our final decisions included the selection of the quality photography of Parsons Studio, and as our theme, All the World's A Stage. While the art staff was preparing a dummy copy and creating the division pages, and the photography staff was wading through the wiltering array of class and activ- ity pictures, the advertising staff launched its ad selling campaign. One new innova- tion along this line was the listing of patrons of our year book. Thus were begun the trials, tribulations, long hours, and effort-sometimes spent in vain-but tirelessly expended never-theless, consumated by a fervid subscription campaign.
