In the second quarter a looming figure fakes to the left, shoots towards the bank board and Herco has put us ahead by two more points, From a mass of arms, legs, and hands. Goose emerges with the ball and banks in a field goal. Even more impressive is the third quarter when Wig first unleashed a right handed hook followed in rapid succession by a set shot from the left corner. The crowd responds as Ed spins in a left hand drive shot. Shortly after the beginning of the fourth, Joe steps to the foul line and barely glancing at the basket, sinks a single pointer. Receiving an ovation as he walks off the floor, Goose is replaced by Quentin who makes a successful right handed hook in a matter of seconds. At the sound of the final buzzer, the shadows fade back into oblivion. Only audible now in the gym is the drip, drip, drip of the showers, for the curtain has decended on this aspect of the sporting scene.
