Millcreek Basketball team had one of the most successful seasons in the history of our school. This team was composed of six letter-men from the previous season. They were: Roy Stadler, Captaing Bill Krayer, Herman I-Ieise, Donald Cwens, Carl Lindquist and William Lossie. These boys, plus Frank Thayer and Walter Taylor were groomed by Gus Anderson into a smooth offensive and a tight defensive combine. After starting the season with two heartbreaking defeats, the boys then hit their stride and won seventeen straight contests in league competition. Ending the League season, tied with Lawrence Park, they entered the play-offs and defeated Wesleyville and Lawrence Park to win the championship. The 1941-49. team and their fine accomplishments will long be re- membered in the annals of our Alma Mater. 54
