The McClymonds Record started a pre-season ballyhoo campaign praising its two tackles. Captain Bob Silva and Paul Kouns. Both boys proved their worth. for they provided the chief thrills for Redskin motors by vicious tackling and blocking performances. Frank Harris. Warrior guard. was knocked out at the kickoff. MACK MeSAN LEANDRO 0.-Seemingly a new War- rior team took the held, for in the past the team depended nn its line to provide most of the power. Previously the Mackmen never had an elusive backfield, but the Indians surprised with an array of tricky plays and passes. The Pirates were bewildered with the Warrior attack and were sculpcd by the tomahuwkmen 1+ to 0 on the Cherrypickcr grounds. Concentrating on power plays. the Braves marched to the Pirate 10-yard line. where they were stopped. Anthony Novak recovered it for the first Warrior tally of the season. Paul Kouns kicked the extra point. Mackis second touchdown came late in the second half when Frank Paich tossed a pass to Charles Stranahan, right end, who eluded two Pirate tacklers and chalked up the sec- ond 6 points.
