Girls have shown a great interest and the possibility is that it may become one of the outstanding sports. Shown in action are Con- stadina Dades, Margaret Munoz, Rose Parento, Helen Georgantes and Elsie Rodriguez. Into the spotlight came another game, called bad- minton-a new sport of batting the hirdie across the net. Tournaments of singles and doubles were played. Arranging the net are Lorraine Andrcucetti, Lorraine Celia, Frances Solinas and Evelyn Miller, while Mary Taylor and Martha Nomura are waiting;r anxiously to start a game. Soft-hall was the featured sport this year. It rated as a major sport. Every grade was represented in the girls intramural league. Pictured playing in a game are Aurora Avila, Encdina Avila, Bernice Carter, Hel- ene Seligman, Julia Stragmalia and Mary Ann Tum- pich. Journeying to the football field at old McClymonds. future girl Robin Hoods practiced the ancient art of archery. Four of the outstanding players seen aiming are Grace Wilcox, Phyllis Davis, Susie Vartanian and Monica Acton. 0n the field at this school grounds, girls employed their skill in the game of hit-pin baseball. This sport figured as only a minor game. Pictured are Doris Lava, Katherine Petris, Mary Maglaris, and Geraldine True- hill.

For the next few innings Gomez allowed no runs and fanned nine. 111 the second game the Warriors met Roosevelt High, potential favorites to run away with the league. Roosevelt took advantage of Mack errors and won 9 to 4. Tasting their second defeat of the season, the McClymonds nine bowed to San Leandro at Bayview by a 7 to 5 score. Rounding:r back into form, Wight was sent to the mound for the W'art'iors and allowed Castlemont 011IV 2 hits to wi113 to 0 at the Castlcmont diamond.
