Commanding Officer Cdr. John J. Felloney, USN Commander John J. Felloney, USN, was born in Philadelphia. Pennsylvania. He graduated from La Salle University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in May 1968, and was commissioned through the OCS Program in De- cember 1968. Since his commissioning, he has served as First Lieutenant and ASW Officer on USS MARSHALL (DD-676), USS SAMUEL N. MOORE (DD-747), USS UHLMAN (DD-687) and as ASW Officer on USS CARPENTER (DD-825). Upon graduation from De- stroyer School in July 1972, he served as Weapons Offi- cer in USS JOSEPH HEWES {FF-1078). From August 1974 to October 1977, Commander Felloney was assigned as an instructor at Surface Warfare Officer Schools Com- mand, Newport, Rhode Island. During this assignment, he earned an MBA degree in Management from Bryant College in 1977. He was subsequently ordered to USS BELLEAU WOOD (LHA-3) as a member of the com- missioning crew and First Lieutenant. He served as Ex- ecutive Officer on USS HAROLD J. ELLISON (DD- 864) from March 1980 to July 1981 and Commanding Of- ficer on USS DETECTOR (MSO-429) from September 1981 to October 1982. His most recent assignment was in Washington, B.C., where he served as Assistant Director in the Distri- bution Management and Control Division (NMPC-46) at the Naval Military Personnel Command. Commander Felloney ' s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V and gold star in lieu of second award and the Navy Achievement Medal. Commander Felloney is married to the former Nan- ette Jacobs of Salt Lake City, Utah. The Felloney ' s have three sons, Brian, Blaine and Bryce, and a daughter, Alli- son.
