Debate, the fourth course, is academically advanced for students interested in the study of reasoning and argumentation. Making up the class are first, second, and third year debaters who study political and historical events as well as debate technique. Some 200 students are involved in the Speech Department which in many ways prepares them for future careers in advertising, public rela- tions, radio and television broadcast- ing, sales, performing arts, and law.
