Schrcmp as C.O. of the ammunition ship FSS Nl.-XLMIA. on 2-l March l965. Capt. I..-XMBERT was on the staff of Comman- der Fleet Air Norfolk as Readiness and Operations Officer prior to assuming his new assignment. Son of Mr. and Nlrs. George E. LAMBERT of Uriah, ,-Xlabania, he was commissioned in l943 following graduation from the Naval Academy. The new Xl.-XZ.-XMA skipper participated in five major Pacific campaigns during WWII while serving aboard the light cruiser U55 BILGXI. lfpon completion of flight training in August ISHS, he received his wings and has been active in Naval aviation since then. Capt. LAMBERT has served in four fleet aviation squadrons, one of which he commanded for a year. He also served on the staff of Commanldcf Fleet Air West Coast, Commander Naval All llcsl Coast, Commander Air Force, Pacific Fleet, Com- mander Naval Air West Coast, Commander Niilfal Air Basic Training Command, and Commander Naval Air Test Center. He has also served aboard the U55 FOR' RESTAL. . Capt. LAMBERT is a graduate Of Naval M' Colle e. . I-Fe is married to the former Frances R'OBINi SON of Repton, Alabama. They have two children- Glenn, jr. and Susan.
