4 Relaxing on the way. Fifty-eight seniors boarded chartered buses at 6:30 the Tuedsay morning after Easter for a long, but very memorable senior trip. Talking, playing cards, reading magazines, and eating goodies, including all Mr. Jett's chocolate chip cookies, passed the long trip to Atlanta. After checking in the Holiday Inn, they left for a night in Underground Atlanta. There they enjoyed pizza, live entertainment, shops, museums, and places of attraction on the streets of the Underground. Wednesday they traveled to St. Augustine's Potter's Wax Museum, which contains many historical figures. At Marineland, dolphins, sea cows, and a screaming whale entertained them. After a five-minute splash in the ocean, they got back on the buses to find the motel which would be their home for the next two nights. Finally checking in the sixth Howard Johnson's, they were soon back in the water for a moonlight swim. Thursday passed quickly at Disney World, with ghosts, tree houses, a speech by Lincoln, a parade, and race cars. After twelve hours of Disney World, they left with huge stuffed animals, and sunburns. Friday morning, the seniors packed their suitcases and loaded the bus with oranges and grapefruits to begin the trip home. Along the way, at Silver Springs, they hung out glass-bottom boats trying the catch fish with bare hands. The long bus ride back was spent playing cards, singing hits of the 50’s, telling jokes, and some people even slept. The two Greyhounds unloaded on Saturday with exhausted seniors and memories of an enjoyable trip.
