NAVIG TIO DEPARTMENT The Navigation Department is charged with the safe naviga- .f:-- tion and proper ship control of MAURY. The department is manned , by both Quartermasters and Signalmen. The responsibility of guiding MAURY across the oceans of the world with their many shoals and unchartered dangers demands . the constant vigilance ot' the 'bridge gang'. They ply their trade daily through a vigorous routine of instrument checks and counter- checl-cs along with frequent daily visual recordings.
