He's always going To New York-been There Tive Times. Mr. Gladding Traveled in The souTh and oTher parTs oT The easT Too, why he's even been on MarTha's Vineyard Island. Ever hear oT iT? IT is oTT The coasT of MassachuseTTs. He is a graduaTe oT Toledo UniversiTy and has sTudied aT NorThwesTern UniversiTy. ATTer Tour years oT experience in Teaching he Tinds he is allergic To sTudenTs who don'T know grammar rules. Bul' he's very Tond oT nice Thick sTeaks, as he uTs iT. p Oh-don'T ever Tell him l Told you buT he was born in Morenci, Michigan, a TacT which, quiTe oTTen, he won'T reveal. BERTHA ROBERTSON The MaTh DeparTmenT oT Maumee High School had an aT'l'rac- Tive new addiTion This year in The Torm oT Miss BerTha RoberTson who Took Mr. Baker's place in The sevenTh and eighTh grade class room. Miss RoberTson received her Bachelors degree aT Bowling Green STaTe UniversiTy and her MasTer's degree in MaThemaTics aT Ohio STaTe. She TaughT Tor nine years in WashingTon CourT House, Ohio and one year in Rushsylvania. a small Town in Logan CounTy. Then Miss RoberTson became raTher bored wiTh Teaching and decided To Try olfice work Tor a while. So she pofzed happily away aT a TypewriTer unTil lasT year when Mr. Nicholas called on her To do some subsTiTul'e work in The Bryan schools. Then again her oTTice work was inTerrupTed by a requesT To come To Maumee High School. As This posiTion was in her line of work she responded and is now a Tull-Tledged member oT our TaculTy. Miss RoberTson owns a dog, a camera and Tlower garden. Her TavoriTe hobby is naTure sTudy and her special haunTs are on her parenTs' Tarm beTween Maumee and Bowling Green. She likes To swim Too, and likes noThing beTTer Than To siT down To a meal oT one af Those Tamous Wood CounTy sTeaks. Miss RoberTson likes concerTs and music in general. EARL DAVIDSON PresenTing-Earl keep your eye on The ball Davidson who received his Bachelor degree in EducaTion aT Bowling Green STaTe UniversiTy and who did graduaTe work aT Ohio STaTe, Toledo UniversiTy and Nolre Dame. Davy sTarTed his Teaching career in SwanTon High in l925 in Their science deparTmenT. ln i927 he came To Maumee To begin his afb:cfd career. He was born on a Tarm in Wood CounTy and his special hobbies are raising boys and whiTe-Taced caTTle. JusT This year he has added rose gardening To his lisT. He likes iazz music and his TavoriTe is sweeTesT music This side of heaven by Guy Lombardo. He likes very lighT comical movies and is deTiniTely bored wiTh The heavier ones. Davy is crazy abouT all sporTs buT especially The ouT-of-door ones which include his beloved TooTball and golfing, hunTing, Tishing in The NorTh woods, eTc. His mouTh waTers aT The sound of a iuicy sTeak wiTh a yummy TruiT salad accompanying iT, His peT peeve is sTudenTs who work Tor grades and noT Tor knowledge ThaT The subiecT maTTer is mennT To give Them. RUTH WOBSER We are inTroducing ThaT lady oT Tashion, Miss RuTh Wobser, The new Home Economics Teacher. This is her TirsT year aT Maumee and she Thinks Maumee is a preTTy swell place, aT any raTe she's very well saTisTied. She aTTended The UniversiTy oT Toledo and received her Bachelor of Science in Educafion degree. She did her pracTice Teaching in Sylvania and This is her TirsT year oT school work. You mighT Think ThaT wiTh her Teaching, cooking and sewing all day, she'd geT raThe rTired of iT. Bul' she oTTen Takes a posTman's holiday and is always Thinking up some new dish To prepare and l can assure you. always TasTy. lalmosT always anywayl. She also likes To read. especially novels and non-TicTion Travel sTories QT dilTerenT counTries. She doesn'T go in Tor The new iazz records, oh, no. Aha-you are misTaken, she doesn'T go Tor classical music eiTher liT bores her To Tearsl. She collecTs old walTzes. Miss Edna Schaller is a Teacher who always kepT sTudenTs on Their Toes . EiTher iT was a bicycle hike, a kid parTy, a red-hoT baske+ball game or a baTTalion oT girls parading around wiTh books on Their heads. She has her B.S. degree Trom Michi- gan STaTe Normal School. This is her TenTh and lasT year oT Teaching and she has noT a word To say abouT sTudenTs excepT gum chewing! She's always been wiThin our midsT-being born in Monclova. Well, I haven'T spenT many dull days and everyone likes a liTTle exciTemenT. l-le is a graduaTe of Bowling Green STaTe UniversiTy and a Maumee Alumnus. Are you hungry? Oh, come now! she suggesTed, A Tew years hence, nobody will care where, when or even wheTher l was born, aTTended school, or abouT my Teaching experiences. OTher people can always dig up more Thrilling or embarrassing sTories abouT one, Than one can himselT. AbouT my hobbies? She has a pleasanT smile and can give you The big eye when you leasT expecT iT. She loves salads-any kind oT salad-and enioys cooking, reading, bicycle riding and Traveling. She spends her spare Time in .... aTTer she grades a long line of papers. Though she didn'T ioin The navy she's seen plenTy oT The world having visiTed all over The wesT, easT, Florida, New Orleans, Canada and Cuba. She especially likes Quebec and New Ore leans. She Tinds movies very enTerTaining-especially movies wiTh Spencer Tracy. STrange To say. she always liked school, as a sTudenT and Teacher. She seT abouT launching her career in high school. She has her B.S. in EducaTion degree Trom Bowling Green STaTe UniversiTy. She can Take a ioke all righl' and a mighTy one was played on her.
