You would see all The Tellows very hasTily engaged in working ouT Their experimenTs lThaT's all righTl buT abouT The middle oT The room you see Tour girls diligenTly Trying To geT The resulTs. Once in a while They surprise The boys and come ouT on Top wiTh The righT answers. BUT really They aren'T so bad and Mr. Baker Thinks They mighT come ouT all righT. Mr. RoberT Baker aTTended Ohio NorThern and received his Bachelor of Science degree. l am Told ThaT while aT Ohio NorTh- ern he was quiTe a singer and Traveled around ,wiTh The choir aT The UniversiTy. Mr. Baker musT be a very busy person because when he was asked his peT peeves and hobbies, he iusT laughed and said he didn'T have Time Tor Them. Maumee High is The TirsT place he has ever TaughT. When he sTarTed he TaughT sevenTh and eighTh grade MaTh, buT when Mr. Webb leTT Mr. Baker moved upsTairs and now Teaches Physics and Freshman science. TypewriTers are clicking and dicTaTion is Tlying in Ralph Asmus's classes in The commercial rooms oT Maumee High School, Mr. Asmus received his Bachelor oT Science in EducaTion De- gree Trom Bowling Green UniversiTy in I936. He did graduaTe work aT Columbia UniversiTy in New York CiTy and received his MasTers Degree in l94l. He is a member of Phi DelTa Kappa, honorary educaTional socieTy. His hobbies are phoTography and Traveling. He has spenT Tour summers in New York CiTy and has gone To The EasT on Two high school class Trips. However, he preTers living in The middle wesT and says he would like To Travel in The Tar wesT nexT. He prefers dancing To The movies and likes To relax in a cool breeze and lisTen To baseball games. As Tor sporTs. he likes To play baskeTball buT enioys waTching The oThers. Chicken-as long as iT's The whiTe meaT, dressing, mashed poTaToes, and gravy-make his mouTh waTer and he's so crazy abouT Jell-O ThaT he buys iT by The case. CoTTee and Pepsi-Cola saTisTy his ThirsT quiTe perTecTly. Mr. Asmus's peT peeves are loafing, gossiping and griping. DONALD KAZMAIER Farm boy makes good in big ciTy oT Maumee! This is Don Kazmaier's liTe accomplishmenT in one senTence. Mr. Kazmaier was born in Wood CounTy on a Tarm and some- Time laTer moved To Maumee where he has lived Tor TwenTy- Tive years. Kazie graduaTed Trom Toledo UniversiTy and has aTTended Bowling Green UniversiTy during several summer sessions. He is a Sigma BeTa Phi TraTerniTy member. His inTeresT in TooTball and Track may be Traced To The TacT ThaT he was capTain oT boTh of Those 'Teams while in college. He says ThaT in his middle age. aT present his sporT inTeresTs run in less sTrenuous Tialds, namely: bowling and golf, boTh oT which he seems To Think he's Terrible in. Mr. Kazmaier's greaTesT inTeresT is in his liTTle gal , Kay. l-le likes To hammer on The piano aT home-when ALONE! lT is inTeresTing To noTe ThaT Kazie played in dance orchesTras Tor Ten years in his younger days. He admiTs ThaT she is a beTTer conTracT player Than he. Mr. Kazmaier is anxious To geT sTarTed wiTh The high school golT Team This spring. They play Their home maTches aT HeaTher Downs. He expresses The wish To play golf like Paul RecTenwald. MARION LAWRENCE Have you ever been on The second Tloor oT Maumee High School and smelled Those sTrange sulphur odors TloaTing around? Upon TurTher invesTigaTion you Tind The source oT Them To be in Mr. Lawrence's ChemisTry and Biology room. You mighT Then wander up To The TronT of The room and find Mr. Lawrence very busily land paTienTlyl engaged in Trying To explain To his sTudenTs whaT makes The odor lor whaTever he has To explain abouT whaT makes whaTl. lf you were To geT inTo a conversaTion wiTh This very busy man, you would Tind ThaT besides Teaching, he also does a liTTle Tarming in The sum- mer. This seems To be one of his hobbies. He also is very much inTeresTed in music ll believe some of us can remember when he used To Teach music aT good old Maumee Hi l. Larry can Think oT noThing any 'finer Than a nice iuicy swiss sTeak and aTTerwards as easy chair. He doesn'T parTicularly care Tor The movies buT Dumbo was an excepTion and was enioyed by The proTessor very much. IT he never accomplishes any- Thing else, The one Thing he expecTs To do is To educaTe his pupils To leave The waTer Turned oTT, noT To Turn The gas on and To leave The rods in Their proper places in The Biology room. lf he could do This he Thinks he would have accomplished The biggesT Task he ever seT ouT To do.

MARIANNE BELDING Miss Marianne Belding, head of The ArT DeparTmenT, goT her Bachelor of Science in EducaTion aT Ohio STaTe and began her painT and brush career in I939. l-ler special hobby, appro- priaTely enough, is painTing and she also likes To sew. She makes her own cloThes, some of which she designs, Reading is her TavoriTe pasTime. She likes music in general alThough she says she has no special musical TalenT. AppropriaTely enough, his hobbies are in The aThleTic Tield where we know him as ThaT assisTanT TooTball and baskeTball coach who looks so young ThaT iT's hard To disTinguish him Trom The members oT The Team. Teaching boTh Junior and Senior High classes, Mr. l-lagemeyer musT have knowledge in a varieTy oT Tields aT his command. The subiecTs TaughT in The lndusTrial ArTs classes range Trom draw- ing and wood work Through plasTics, bench, arT and sheeT meTals, To Torging and machine shop work. NexT year, in The inTeresT oT defense, some new subiecTs are To be added To The lndusTrial ArTs course. These include air- craTT sheeT meTal. Toundry, welding. auTomoTives, and ceramics. The machine shop course is To be expanded also.
