H49 PRACTICE - Many hours of hard work went into making the Cardinals district champs. TOUCHTDOWN - Robert Edwards rushes down field with the goal line in sight. INJURED - Back injuries kept Jerry Holder on the sidelines at Harleton. ARKANSAS HIGH B TEAM 18 - 33 - The Cards won a hard-fought battle for their sixth straight win. The offense played a near perfect game against a much heavier defense. ORE CITY 6 - 40 - The Cards clinched their first district title as they defeated the Rebels. The defense played another great game by allowing only one touch- down in the fourth quarter. QUEEN CITY 20 - 20 - The 17-A District winners played an exciting see- saw game on the Bulldogs' home turf. Neither hard-hitting team could completely contain the other. KERENS 34 - 0 - A truly great season for the Cardinals came to an end. The Bob- cats' defense shut down the Cards' off- ense and kept it from rolling over another opponent. The 197 2 Cardinals will be long remembered as Maud 's first district champion football team.
