Feb Feb SIC Il-I 'UD IL 'CA IL IEN IDA ID 10-The Tigers handed the Alliance Aviators a 52-36 beating here. 11-The East Liverpool Potters handed the Tigers a 50 38 defeat. 16-The Dramatic Club presented A Dramatic Dionysiaf' Can Mr. Rogers act! If-Father Scully from the State Hospital spoke on mental disorders. End of third six-weeks' period. 18-The Tigers did it again! They defeated Akron South 67-61. 21-The Messiah Banquet was held. Ah! Good food! 22-Report cards again. Why can't I ever get on the honor roll? 23-Mr. Wayne Hanson, educator and world trav- eler, spoke on South of the Border at chapel. 24-The Tigers won their fifth game by upsetting New Philly 54-31 in a rough game. 25-The Tigers downed St. Vincent's quintet 73-51 at Akron. Massillon swept the speech tourna- ment. 31-The Tigers smashed the McKinley Bulldogs 38-33 in a very fast and rough game. What a chapel program! The school orchestra directed by Mr. Ford played all our favorites in an hour program. Bill Lawson brought down the house with Danny Boy. FEBRUARY 1-Massillon was handed a 65-51 defeat by Akron North. 7-The Tigers lost again to Alliance with a 45-43 score. Less said, the better! 8-Our team finally snapped out of their los- Ing slump. We beat Lincoln 50-43. 14-Mansfield delivered the Tigers their sixth loss of the season. Still, we were optimistic! 15-Washington High was hostess to an Oregon :onventional debate tournament. Massillon placed-Oh, well, why talk about that? To- morrow's another day. Ah! At last! Massillon was victorious over Youngstown South 51-41. Terps held the Sweethearts Formal at the Re- public Steel Ballroom. VVeren't Bill and Betsy the perfect king and queen? Feb. 18-Since the week of February 16 was proclaimed Feb. Brotherhood Week, we had a movie pertaining to this subject featuring Frank Sinatra. Mr. Paul llartman of the Y.M.C.A. and Mr. Alton Thomas of the Urban League also held a dis- cussion on race relations. 20-Todaya panel discussion on brotherhood was presented in chapel. A pr. 21 -Massillon won out against lVarren in a 59-50 last minute thriller! 22-Lincoln downed the Tigers again 48-44. 28-The WCMW Broadcasting Station of Canton presented a movie on F. M. radio in chapel. M A R C H 3-The Tigers won their opener in the Tourna- ment against Elyria 63-57. Vlfonderfull 6-The choirs presented Victor Herbert's The Red Mill. Aren't we proud we go to Wash- ington High? 7--Massillon came through again with a fight- to-the-finish victory over Akron South by 58- 54 to enter the sectional finals. 8-We knew this couldn't last. Cuyahoga Falls eliminated the Bengals by a 47-41 score. 14- 1t's a first down and ten to go . . . . No, it's just McKinley game movies. 15-The annual Military Ball. What did' you think of Washington High's regiments? 20-Bidu Sayao, Brazilian soprano, took Massillon hy storm in the second of the Co-operative Concert series. Say that again! ! I Yes, that's right. The Home Economics Club held a cannibal supper. 21-Who said we can't scream? But then, anyone who sees Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde will do the same thing. Mr. Koffel addressed the junior Section of the Woman's Club. 27 and 28-The band gave its ninth annual spring concert. Orchids to Mr. Ford and the band for a superb performance. 28-The Easter chapel, as always, inspired every- one of us. 29- Just a wee bit of heaven. Spring vacation began. A P R I L 1- Though April showers may come your way . . . Naughty McFarland wreaked havoc on Cherry Road, N.F.. 1, 2, 3, 4-Our spring vacation began,,but spring took a vacation too. 6- ln your Easter bonnet . . . 12-State Drama and Poetry Contest. Shake- speare's Ladies Meet again-this time at Col- umbus. Watch where you put your feet. 18-Larry la Moyne, an American Indian, danced at chapel. Great Spirit, Fire in Sky, Big Chief Sun on high: Eee-Yah, Eee-Yah, Eee-Yah! They sprang another football game on us.. The Apollo Boys' Choir gave voice to beauti- ful airs for the Final Co-operative Concert.

Like old times, isn't it? 5-Now we're really in the swing of things with our studies. Like it, do you? Orchids to the Student Council for their fine KEY. It really opens the doors for us. 11- Good morning, students. This is station VV. H. S.. your .... With these words the Stu- dent Council went on the air for the first of its weekly broadcasts. 17-Mr. V. O. Hinton of Canton was the speaker at our first chapel program of the year. Since this was Constitution Day, Mr. Hinton spoke on the Preamble to the Constitution. -We won't be starting any fires after what Chief Earl told us today! Also, we had our first ral- ly. and we really raised the roof. It's a shame we didn't raise that football over the post. We lost our first game to Latin. The score? VVho cares? -This time we mauled those Lincoln Lions 29-0. How did you like the cheerleaders? Lincoln's, that is? OCTOBER 3-Today the choir held initiation, which comes but once a year-CThank heaven! some of those dresses!!J Alliance and Massillon fought to a 19-19 tie in Alliance. Fortunately, the weatherman was very sparing with the rain during game time. -The Hi-Y sponsored its fall hayride. A good time was had by all. -Watch the birdie! Identification pictures were taken today. 18-Another tie-Mansfield 123 Massillon 12. We are beginning to appreciate the spacious- ness of our own stadium. End of first grading period. Well, that's one we can chalk off ! 21-Senior members of the Hi-Y took over city offices. Fire Chief Bob Link conducted a fire drill and made us step lively. Today the teachers attended the annual teach- ers' convention in Cleveland. Whoopee! A vacation at last!! Warren was defeated by Massillon 19-6. 26-The Jr.-Sr. Y-Teen Masked Ball was held in the gym. Everything was wonderful, but those masks!!! 30-The school was open for the thirty-eighth Annual Patrons' Reception. N O V E M B E R Nov. 1-Massillon swamped Dayton Chaminade 35-12. Pardon us: really, we didn't mean to step on your toes. A dance was held in the boys' gym after the game. Nov. 2-Did you notice the brightly-colored bobby socks at the Woman's Club Sport Dance? Miss Massillonian beauties? Oh, well, beauty is only skin deep. The first pledge sale opened. Nota 8-Too bad! Massillon lost to Toledo Waite 40- N ov. Not' N 011. N mf. N 011. Nota Nui' Dec. Dec. Dcc. Dec. Dec. Doc. Dec. Dec. Dec. Jan. Jan. 5. We surely needed those blotters. A conso- lation dance was held in the boys' gym after the game. 10-I-Ii-Y and Y-Teen Armistice Day Chapel- Classes were dismissed at noon. 15-Those hayseeds, pardon me, I mean the Terps, had a barn dance. There was a rally before the Youngstown East game. 16-Massillon fans came back with gay hearts from the Youngstown game. No wonder-we won 20-7. 22-McKinley football chapel! W'e envy Miss Weimer and Miss Richeimer, their raccoon coats. and their school spirit for old Washing- ton High. - 23-The Tie-gcrs did it again. The score was 6-6. Handkerchiefs came in mighty handy when jack Paramore gave his farewell performance as Obie at the Canton-Massillon game. The kids went home with light hearts and tired feet from the Victory Dance. 26-Kent State University presented Macbeth 27-Thanksgiving Chapel-and we were off for a long week-end vacation. DECEMBER 2-We received our identification pictures. Don't tell me I smiled like that! The football players received their letters at the rally. The Foot- ball Banquet was held in the cafeteria in the evening. 4-lfVe received those terrible report cards. Don't tell me I passed! The swing band played for the chapel program. 6-Now it can be toldg so the speaker from the Office of Strategic Service informed us during a very interesting lecture. 11-The student body enjoyed Charlie's Aunt as a benefit movie for the Tuberculosis Fund. 13-A Swedish pianist presented a fine entertain- ment for us today. 20-A beautiful Christmas Chapel. The choir pre- sented Handel's Messiah in the evening. 21-The Football Frolic was held in the boys' gym. Oh! look at her gown. 25-Merry Christmas! The Hi-Y held their formal dance at the Republic Steel Ballroom. 27-The Woman's Club Christmas Formal. J A N U A R Y 3-Massillon handed McKinley a 58-S0 defeat in Canton. 6-Oh, dear!
