Many colleges and universities, in fact, the overwhelming majority of colleges and universities, have homecoming and dozens of other var- ities of queens. MIT, lacking in such spirit, has managed in the past to select only one Football Queen in the early 1940 ' s. But with the play¬ ing of the first homecoming game in over seventy years, some spirit seems to have appeared. The UMOC (Ugliest Man on Campus), Leo Harten, was given the title of Homecoming Queen and a prominent place on the MIT float. He was even entered in a national competition for homecoming queens. And in keeping with this new spirit, Technique has established that hallmark of college yearbooks, a queens section. Enjoy.
