TASKIN HISTORY QCLASS OF '-493 It is a Class of seventeen Who stoppeth ere they pass Beyond the College Halls, to glean Fond memories from the past. With more than half - two score and We started toward this goal, But less in size, no less are we Our duties to unfold. In jest or justly we've been typed With strong and silent code, And proudly we reveal this might Which paved a solid road. We stood the strong transition when Our halls began to burst, As every class grew strong with men, Each stronger than the first. We've watched a changing faculty, At every loss we've grieved, But none the less, new members we Have cordially received. All college clubs in our four years Have been a helpful tool, We've even touched the one of peers, High Honors in the school. three We've rallied round Mt. Greylock's tower, We claim a Stunt Night prize, We even have before her hour, A teacher in disguise. We've seen the renovations made In paint and personnel, The former was a growing aid Caused by the fire bell. We, even in our quietness Have proved the college norm, The answer for the noise is this, It's all made in the Dorm. Here but an outline has been penned Of history's open door This School and Education have Our hope forevermore. Paul A Klezn CLASS SONG QTune - Battle Hymn of the Republic! Though we have felt the sadness Of our parting from this school, We will look ahead together And let Friendship be our rule, We will always let our actions Show that thinking is our tool, And vve'll remember you. N.A.S.T.C. we'll teach schoolg N.A.S.T.C. We'll travel, N.A.S.T.C. vve'll marry, But we'll remember you. Since We have worked together We have added to our life, We have held our goal before us And have conquered every strife, May this school go on forever Giving greatness to each life- And we'll remember you. N.A.S.T.C. We'll teach school: N.A.S.T.C. we'll travel, N.A.S.T.C. We'll marry, But We'll remember you. Phryliss Anclfrews CLASS WILL We, the class of 1949, being of sound mind, sound body, and silent lips do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament. I, Ann Schlosstein, leave my ability to make a score of 70 for a reasonable facsimile thereof, anywayl in golf. I, Mary Martin, leave to all dormitory girls my baby-sitting techniques. I, Gertrude Peck, leave my acting ability to anyone slightly interested. I, Helen Taskin, leave my ability to enjoy life tjoie de vivrel at all times. I, Pearl Landstrom, leave my strong and quiet manner to be distributed where needed. I, Paul Klein, leave many broken hearts to be mended by the male contingent of the student body. I, Roland Gagnier, leave my techniques for walking the baby at three o'clock in the morning to all prospective fathers in the student body. I, Arthur Bartlett, leave my ability to use big words in the right places. I, Marie Lamarre, leave my enthusiasm for all things to all students of N. A. S. T. C. I, Alice Bosma, leave the trials and tribulations of ruling the dormitory to anyone who wants them. I, Merlys LaFogg, leave my keep-awake pills to all who need them. I, Frances Karrey, leave my artistic ability to be used only in Mr. Flagg's classes-not for doodling purposes in the other classes. I, Viola Harris, leave my musical ability to all glee club members. I, Carol Molloy, leave my gum-chewing techniques to all under- classmen. I, Betty Grande, leave my ability to be the first one out of class. I, Phyliss Andrews, leave my transportation difficulties be- hind me. I, Teresa Connors, leave my permission to keep the windows closed during winter sessions. We, the class of 1949, for the benefit of the teachers--leave! The par- ticular needs for furthuring their education and becoming familiar with the art of pedogogy were satisfied by a full schedule of classes at the college and the training school. There were no noticeable repercussions resulting from the hyper-active schedule. There is little that can break such spirit as ours! The interests were numerous and various. Every organization found itself either led by or at least swamped by the vociferous members of the class. Never let it be said that the class of '50 is shy, retiring or humble. Their abilities were utilized often, challenged sometimes but ineffective, never. The junior stunt night, a Western satire, is an excellent example. The prom was memorable and a fitting tribute to the departing seniors. The loss of Dr. Harry S. Broudy to Framingham State Teachers struck home, for he Was the class advisor. The only happy consequences of his leaving were the memorable evening at Armstrong's in his honor and the appointment of Dr. Mileham as his successor. The year has passed, and a slightly uninhibited, slightly delin- quent and exceedingly spirited class has risen to become high and mighty, but never dignified seniors. Joy Dorfmcm '50 SOPHOMORE CLASS O Class Cflicers Presz'dent, William Harrington Vz'ce-Pre.sz'dem', Norma Prince Seczvtczry, Theresa Riordan Trecz.szn'er, Shirley Tillbrook Sophomore Class History Here's our history told in versus, A tale of blessings and of cfobursesg And yet filled up with such joyful joys For our boys met girls and girls met boys. Oh, in September back we troopedg At our schedules just once we looked, While all our summer vim and vigor Now went to make our brains grow bigger. But still with a gay abandon we Did frolic about with gaiety, And Qfor a tiny feel, were given A glimpse of gala halls of heaven. Oh, soon the weeping and wailing came, Although we struggled with might and main. The dreaded blue books were upon us, And we all felt that we were goners. But we'll draw the veil up on our sorrow To raise it again upon the morrow In a room where happy voices ring And the sounds of carefree laughter ring. After looking back on this long year, We still are hoping that soon we will hear C 'Cause much we did was really niftyb We'll all be back in nineteen fifty! Looking Back Back to School Sophomore Prom Exams Stunt night Looking Ahead Rosemary- Barry '51 F RESHMEN CLASS I Class Officers President, Lynn Farrell Vice-Presidevztn, Robert Bersaw Secretary, Phyllis Miller T'1'easurre1', Charles Moloney Freshmen Class History Julius Caesar and the Freshmen Class - Who would ever think that they had anything in common? The idea is not quite so fantastic as it may seem. Caesar said, I came, I saw, I conquered, and that is exactly what we Freshmen did. In September We came, not any too sure of ourselves but determined to do the best we could. The Freshmen Reception and the dormitory initiation made us realize that We were in friendly territory. The upper classmen gave us many ideas about what was expected from our class and we attempted to fulfill their great expectations. After a spirited campaign We elected officers to represent us in the Student Association. In addition, the social sponsored by our class was very successful. We managed to sur- vive examinations and then looked back on what we consider a very successful semester. The second half of the year brought us new problems and new endeavors. Stunt night was only one of our difficulties, but under the direction of able committees the talented members of the class did an excellent job. In all our efforts We were generously aided by many in the other classes to Whom We are sincerely grateful. Spring came to the college on the hill and with it came exams once more. Our first year at N. A. S. T. C. was ended and all of us could look back on it with happiness. As Freshmen we had studied long and laughed long and We felt we had been successful in all our class projects. Like Caesar we came, we saw, and surely we conquered.
