But Night reveals The consolation. The sunset steals the sky . The pink halo Velvetizes the stark Lacing the night Heaven Delicate. The color disappears And the sky opens Up a universe - Expansive. The earth and its life Sleep. The night closes. Morning dawns New, as if forgotten. Singing birds signal A new day. Stark silhouettes give way To touches of green. Nature hesitates - Unsure of new beginnings. But the time urges her on , Daring the sun to fade . She responds with Yellow sunbursts dancing in the breeze And the promise of more living color . 48 k ' I Life Blossoms . Songbirds return to ' Morning; Insects invade The night . Those who once reueated Race out to Participate . The stillness of winter Is broken. Action: Life swells . ( i- ■i: .-. ' ; 1 il : . F X . The setting changes. Nature seems unalen - Satisfied with reprieves - But is not fooled , merely Complacent To the ritualistic Changes. October blue days Rustle Mellow, burnt Fossils of lemonade Days - Bits of eternity Swirl and Fall. Ill . Across the bare stage the Wind ices stark Images on Gray and white . The silence menaces . Lookers-on retreat Inside To wait. II . And the days whistle by - Scurrying. The crisp tones Foretell Harsh tones; The colors pulsate One more time; Precarious life Echoes Across empty hills; Twilight creeps into day - Fade out: Winter Falls. IV. Mugs, blankets, books - Surrogate summer. The marshmallow touch Softens the scene Making familiarity Bizane , Enchanting . But the fluff recedes Leaving puddles of Brown . Still waiting . V. The days stretch on. Killing frost Chills to life ' s bone. But Night reveals The consolation. The sunset steals the sky. The pink hato ' Velvetizes the stark Lacing the night Heaven Delicate . The color disappears And the sky opens Up a universe - Expansive . The earth and its life Sleep. The night closes. VII. Life Blossoms. Songbirds return to Morning; Insects invade The night. Those who once reueated Race out to Participate. The stillness of winter Is broken. Action: Life swells. VI . Morning dawns New, as if forgotten. Singing birds signal A new day . Stark silhouettes give way To touches of green. Nature hesitates - Unsure of new beginnings. But time urges her on. Daring the sun to fade . She responds with Yellow sunbursts dancing in the breeze And the promise of more living color. VIII. The days are long - They die slowly - Filled, yet Lazy. But sunbright days and Sweltering nights Sap the energy , Singe the soul. Time directs the Movement. Nature Obeys: The setting changes. IX . And man must change To fit the part Of the cycle , Lingering for only a Moment in his Space in time , But winning with a Memory And the knowledge that a Part of everything is Within . And with these treasures , he Transcends time ' s all To gain dominion and t Touch eternity . - Lisa Wishon iW. •M v.-J ' 0-4 ' . I « --• ' ,; - . «i, ' t-,;.-Tr -A ' .
