OKLAHOM , Thespians ' Sprin Offerin Talking with Santa Claus I top rightj is Macy's secretary, Vicki Lamb, dur- ing an interview to detect sanity. Townsfolk react in surprise Cbottom rightj as Greg Hynes threatens Curly, fMarvin Zieserj with his life. Curly en- gages in a dance Ccenterj with Laurie. C Dee Ann K indallj, while the town looks on. Smiles on the faces of the people Cbelowj tell everyone what a beautiful day it is. The Thespians third and final production of the year was OKLAHOMA . lt was a mixture of comedy, tragedy. music, and love. The play starts off on a beautiful day, with Curly. played by Marvin Zieser, singing, Ohl 26 STUDENT LIFE What a Beautiful Day . He had come to ask Laurie, played by Dee Ann Kindall, to the Lunch Box Picnic. The lunches are made by the girls in town and then bid on to raise money to build the schoolhouse. Jud Frye. played by Micah Williams, is bound and determined to have Laurie, and stops at almost noth- ing. Later Jud leaves town, only to return on Laurie's and Curly's wedding day. Curly and Jud get in a fight in which Jud falls on his knife, killing him. Curly is found not-guilty in a made-up trial. Meanwhile Alley Hakim, played by Steve Hall is trying to get rid of Ado Annie played by Jill Baker, and Will Parker. played by Tom Smidtsler, is try- ing to get her. Everything comes out in the end and every- one goes their own way. Other performers were Dori Kessinger as Aunt Eller, Tony Sarsam as Slim, Kari Ameroso as Gertie, Jenny Marks as Ellen. Terrance Daniels as the town judge, Richard Jackson, Greg Hynes, and the Chourus. Both OKLAHOMA and HERE'S LOVE were accompanied by a pit orchestra.
