20 STUDENT LIFE '5- --Ang -113'-'J Students bra ve hot sun to purchase books early With school opening a week earlier than usual, it moved the sale of books up to hotter August. Students rather reluctantly gave up their vacations to spend about a half day standing in lines and picking out the books necessary for the start of classes. The books were stacked in the halls of the lm building, but even so, many students had trouble finding exactly what they wanted. Once the books were found and the ID pictures made, students stood in line to find out the bad news: how much all of this cost.

A new feature of the home- coming assembly was a parade 22 STUDENT LIFE of the Band, football team, and the floats from the front of the school to the football field. The homecoming royalty nominees were introduced. the Cheers lead in a few cheers, and Coach Young spoke. The assembly was ended by everyone joining in the fight song.
