as-i -ii Students faculty break ground for construction Groundbreaking ceremo- nies forthe expansion of Mary- vale's present facilities were held early in October. The ground was loosened earlier so that none of the sidewalk superintendents broke shovels instead of ground. Included on the guest list were Superintendent Gearld DeGrow, Principal David Cioodson, CTA President Tom Messner, Student President Chuck Sigars and representa- tives of the faculty, builder and architect. The project, when com- pleted will furnish new class- rooms, a remodeled and en- larged library and a new vo- cational area. Guests were served refresh- ment in the library before the ceremony. Refreshments are enjoyed by Dr. Kenneth Garland and Foreman En- gineer Emerson Snyder before the ceremonies tAboveJ Student leaders jim Gaffin, Marilyn Hansen, Chuck Sigars and Ken Beamer dig dirt ttvliddlel. Mr. Goodson emceed the affair and introduced the speakers tFar Rightl. Representatives of the builder, architect and school: Mr. Bud Liddil of Connelly Construction Company, Mr. Dick Presto of Dro- ver, Welch and Lindlan and Mr. Goodson.

XX Parents, faculty compare notes at Open House A chili supper was added to the attractions of Open House at which teachers get together with parents and discuss the progress of students. Student demonstrations were popular and the ROTC color guard with its Bicentennial uniforms made quite a hit with the parents.
