Home Economies Studie Offer Diverse Activitie Homemaking is a major activity of peoples of all lands. The role of the homemaker is vital to the building of strong homes and a strong nation. Besides clothing selection, foods and nutrition, many other areas are part of the home economics curric- 26 ulum. Human relations teaches MHS students all aspects of lite and how to be a mature adult. Child De- velopment teaches methods ot rear- ing children. Home Management and Interior Decorating are other homemaking scopes in which study and instruction are available. PJ. Before beginning the actual modern dance session, Miss Connie Crumb leads her PE class in limbering exercises. PE Students Build Muscles, Character Realizing that a healthy body and an educated mind are of equal im- portance, the MHS Physical Edu- cation Department seeks to obtain desirable c h a r a c t e r, personality and inter-personal relationships through a varied program of physi- cal activity. In PE each student is acquainted with the fundamentals behind the individual and team sports, with skills being developed through daily exercise and participation. Advanced PE is offered to those students who excel in the various activities or who participate in pom, cheer, football, basketball, Wrestl- ing or other team competitions. Southwest History students, David Gustafson the classroom's bulletin board. and Harold Auble, observe Two Weeks Such questions as legalized lot- tery and Women's draft for non- cornbatant duty were considered by Mr. Richards' mock Congress. Out of the nearly 200 bills intro- duced by his second and fifth hour Government classes, only five were made law. Correct methods of taking notes and writing research papers are the primary objectives of th e n e W Southwest history course. Providing an interesting course of study, Southwest explores the forming of this part of our country.
