CLASS HISTORY Our time had finally come we were freshmen in high school and we were a little sca ed in that certain morning in September 1946, as we walked through those big doors feeling small and looking very bewildered Everything was going fine and it start ed to get brighter but Initiat1on At first and all came out of it We elected as our all of a sudden came that week in October we were terrified, but we had a lot of fun alive class officers Rov Kiner, president, Dar win Jordan, vice president, Donna Lee Holland, secretarv, Charlotte Seitz, treasurer Mrs Rubripht was our class advisor until January 1947, when Miss McCall took over for the rest of the year We liked our new courses, Latin and algebra, and tried to do our best Most of us tried to enter as many activities as we could throughout the vear The end of the year came with evervone's worrying about his final exams, but when we received our report cards we could breathe more freely now that we were sophomores A vear later we entered the same doors but a little more at ease Of course we had the same problem that every other sopho more c ass had 'w ich course to choose This year we elected for class officers Robert Alexander, president, Darwin Jordan, vice president, Charlotte Seitz, secre tary, Evelyn Rice, treasurer, Joan Strickland, historian Miss McCall was our class advisor To earn money during the year we had a hat check booth at the different activities at the school At the end of the year we won first prize in the May Day con test which helped our treasury grow Exams came again and everyone felt proud when his report card We were juniors and felt as if we were something in high school Our first big event was our class plav We chose, nHere Comes Charlie a comedv in three acts, which was presented on November ll under the direction of Mr Paul Dunlap Our class officers were the same except Donna Lee Holland became historian The only thing we could think of wasnhow to make money, we had the uProm to finance So after our plav we had a nbock Hop,' the first one ever held in the high school, and it went over as a big success Just before Christmas we received our class rings of which we are very proud Then the time came for us to think about the Prom which was to be held on May 16 We decorated the auditorium in a gar den scene called the 'starlight Gardens U Music was furnished by George Davy and the Town Boys Just before the dance we held a banquet in the Methodist Church in honor of the class of 1949, we used the rose bud effect for decoration It was the close of another rear, exams came and everyone was more than proud to know that he was a senior -dffffff T Q .. . . . , 0 , c , . . l - ' h .H . . - C O V . had junior on it. vv ' ' .
