CALENDAR I - SEPTEMBER 5 - School starts - MHS welcomes new students and freshmen. I I — Student Council elections today. 13 -Perky, peppy people form Pep Club. Student Council sponsors 1st Bl money-making project — Activity Night. 1st Council meeting. 15 - 1st Football game of the season MHS defeats Lapeer 30-0. 16 — Cross Country Holly Invitational 22 - First} issue of AMPLIFIER out MHS Football at Algonac; Accepts close 19 -MHS Choir provides ifriTertainment at Christmas Assembly. 20 — Christmas Dance held by Student Council g- Students dance to rhythms of “The F at Cole.” 21 The long-awaited holiday of bliss! JANUARY 3 - Classes resume — Back to the hallowed halls! . 8 - Harriers run up and down stair s. Watch out below! 12 — Seniors first again — this time for 2nd semester registration. 17 - The new Viking Theatre presents “Cool Hand Luke!” 20 MHS Wrestling Invitational is held. 23-25 The most dreaded days of entire year Semester Exams! 24 — Rich Pietroski is selected to represent MHS in YFU during summer. 26 - Junior Prom — “Warm Hearts In a Winter’s Dream” is the theme for 73 with “The Trade Winds.” FEBRUARY 1 — Frosh Basketball Team topples Chippewa Valley 39-37. 1- 2 - Freshmen and Juniors “see” a test for Mrs. Cummings. 6 - G.A.A. girls capture the trophy at the basketball playday held at MHS. 8 — Vickie Irvine wins spelling contest; Michelle Liddle is best ‘typist — BOEC v contests. 14 — F.T.A. hosts pupils from Woodland School. 16 — Our “Snow Day”! 18 — 550 Lucky people send in final order for 73 VIKING! 21 — Tea for two — or two hundred - Honor Society honors Honor Roll students. 22 — French Club sponsors pancake dinner. 23 - Marysville Fish pulled the plug on Warren Tower 72-71. 24 - Kevin, Mike, Brad pinned the best at Wrestling Districts. 26 — Student Assembly — American Poetry duo. MARCH 2 — Teachers have a h a p py day from the FT A 5 - First District Basketbal Game Ours! 53-38 over Marine City! 6 — Outdoor Recreation Field Trip Ice F i sh i n 7 - Vikings do it again — Cros-Lex succumbs 5440! 9 — Seniors share Memory Books. 10 - District basketball.
