Comprehension, Glory, Knowledge. . . Vicki Peruski, a senior, was chosen as last summer’s Youth for Understanding representative. As well as being an exchange student, Vicki is also very active in school activities. She is a timer for the Swim Team, a Varsity Cheerleader, Secretary of Student Council, a member of the AMPLIFIER staff, a member of FTA, President of French Club, a member of Pep Club, and she worked on the Senior Play and Prom. For two months, Vicki’s home was a tourist hotel in Klippen, Sweden, owned by her Swedish parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bror Berg, and their two children, Christer 18, and Catarina, 15. Christer, Vicki’s Swedish brother, is also an exchange student and is attending school in Farmington, Michigan. Besides seeing Sweden, Vicki had the pleasure of visiting Norway and Denmark. Vicki also enjoyed mountain climbing, sightseeing, and just meeting people. Vicki expressed her gratification and appreciation with “It was an experience of a lifetime!” She has definite plans to return to Sweden and visit her Swedish family. Some of the duties of the library students are checking books in and out, putting up newspapers and new magazines, and filing the back issues. Not only do they do all of these jobs, but many more, such as putting returned books on shelves, counting and recording daily circulation of the books and taking care of overdue lists. Each student has a particular section of the library which is her responsibility. In each section the books ar e to be straightened and the shelves cleaned. Each new book must have a pocket, and cards for the paperbacks have to be typed. The student must be able to file cards in the card catalog alphabetically. The girls are graded on how well they do the above and on the worksheets and tests assigned. Cindy No r dstrom completes library passes. Library Service Fulfills
