People With... Bob Donaldson, Vice-President, and Tim Collard, President, showed leadership ability by directing the Student Council in their Junior year. Governing Ideals The 1972-73 Student Council started the year out sponsoring the 52nd annual homecoming. Vicki Peruski and Cathy Miller, co-chairmen for the event, planned a spirited week for the Vikings. Free refreshments were served, courtesy of the Council, after the Viking March and bonfire preceding Homecoming night. “In the Still of the Night” was the chosen theme for the dance which closed Homecoming “72”. Gardens School hosted this year’s Christmas Dance. A successful turnout came to hear the “Fat Cole Band.” The officers went to Area League meetings where they met with other school councils and exchanged different projects the Councils were undertaking. The Money-Making Committee sold popcorn during Varsity Football and Basketball games which added a little butter to the games. Plastic coated I.D. cards were distributed throughout the student body for the purpose of student identification at local affairs. The 1972-73 Student Council mastered a prosperous year for both the students and administration.
