“
Wally says, We re Alligator Tough” ' was the theme for the Junior class float. The Juniors really gave it all they had and placed second in the 1972 Homecoming float competition. Homecoming festivities began with the annual homecoming parade. Students filled the s treets to watch the colorful scenery of the class floats. Music filled the air as the M.H.S. band played and led both floats and students over to the stadium for a pep assembly. All students showed an amazing amount of spirit, for they knew that in just a few hours at half time, the Marysville High School Queen of 1972-73 would be crowned and the winners of the float competition would be announced. At half time, music filled the air once more as the ever-faithful M.H.S. band played and formed a lovely “rose garden” in which the Homecoming Queen would be crowned. And she was — lovely Sandy Richards! Queen Sandy and the members of her court reigned over the homecoming dance, “In The Still Of The Night.” Queen Sandy and her escort Dave Porter, danced to the Queen’s dance while her court joined in. Music was provided by the band “Head F irst.” The Student Council was responsible for the planning and organization of the best Homecoming ever! “We Won’t Be Dragon, Cuz We’re All Fired Up,” was the theme chosen by the Senior class, which influenced the judges to award the first-place prize of $25 to the Seniors. The Homecoming dance wouldn’t have been complete without the rock-and-roll music from the band called “Head First.” 8
