On February 25, the Marysville High School Ski Club made its first all-day ski trip to Pine Knob, a ski area in Clarkston, Michigan. It wasacold day, 6 degrees above zero, when they all met early in the morning. It was a pretty calm trip down there with not much happening except for a few missing shoes and such. When the ski club members got there, everyone was eager to get out on the slopes. For a lot of the members, it was their first time us- ing the chair lift. They were cautioned about the weatherg and because it was so cold, they were ad- vised to come inside and get warm about every 45-60 minutes. During the day there were many exciting times--one ski club member broke her ski the last time down the hill, two others assisted the ski patrol with an accident victim, other members took lessons, and some sat in the lodge. On the way home the club stopped at another ski area to look over its facilities and there was talk of skiing there next year. N ,,,, V, . f . M ajorettes Marysville's majorettes have displayed a great deal of pep and enthusiasm this year. They have led the band in all the foot- ball pre-game and half-time performances. They have been led by Sherry Plunkitt, a junior. This was Sherry's first year as drum majorette. On October 1, the band and the major- ettes traveled to Ann Arbor for the Univer- sity of Michigan's band day. Bands came from all over. All morning the majorettes were hard at work learning a new routine. The majorettes performed at the pre-game show and the bands performed at half-time. This spring the Majorettes wore their new uniforms for the first time. KNEELING: Sue Blue, Sherry Plunkitt, Drum Mu- Ostrander Janlce Lenn NUI PILIURI D M ny lou joretteg Debby Bergstrom. Under the tough training of Coach Braun and the assistance of Coach Pake, the St. Clair Area Football Championship title has returned to Marysville. Bob Partridge and Steve Plunkitt headed the unbeatable Vikings as Co-Captains this year, and C.J. Knuth took the SCAL individual scoring honors. To Coach Braun, Coach Pake, and the football team the students of Marysville High, with the leadership of our fine cheerleaders, sincerely shout, WE'RE PROUD OF OUR TEAM! 6 sa li, -X. Marysville had its finest year of basketball in the history of Marysville this year, and Coach Lee did his utmost to see that it was that way. Coach worked and sweated hard along with our players showing them the move- ments and tricks that make a number one team, while at games he displayed the cool calmness of a top-notch coach. These and several other fine qualities are the reasons Coach Lee has been honored with the All Suburban Coach of the Year Award. ,., 1... ..-.1.... This year the Junior Var- sity basketball team won 9 out of 17 games. In the season they tallied 952 points, 388 field goals, and 176 free shots. The first game the boys played with Port Huron Catholic High was the most exciting game of the year. The lead changed all through the game, but our team came out on top 74 to 72. Mr. Skinner's excellent drills helped the team in developing their ability. The two high scorers for the 1966-67 sea- son were John Knuth with 243 points and Gary Westbrook with 217.
