Joe Ciaramitaro Coach Bob Sullivan has learned these rules for success. Passion for work and attentiveness to minute detail have brought untold success to our likeable coach. The personal interest he shows, and the wise counsel he offers to the athletes of MHS have endeared him to their hearts. Marysville football teams, under the expert guidance of Coach Sullivan, have compiled an enviable record. In 1961, he was named Coach of the year, am ong Class B mentors. Our team was awarded the mythical State Championship. In addition to his football duties, he handles the reserve basketball squad, the varsity track team, boys physical education, and serves as Athletic Director for the school. We are sure the whole student body, the faculty, the administration, and the entire populace of our school area join the VIKING staff in this well deserved SALUTE to Coach Bob Sullivan for the tremendous job he is doing. 74 S.C.A.C. 1n . 0 Cfiamps 2962 Row 4: Coach Merrithew, Coach Lee, Bob Herman, Ray Simpson, Ron Duncan, Richard Lee, Jerry Bowie, Steve Davis, Tom Blackney, Jerry Frent, Russ Watson, Supt. of Maintenance. The Marysville Vikings under the direction of Coach Bob Sullivan overpowered their adversaries in winning their 6th S.C.A.L. title in 8 years. This was our 4th championship in a row. The Vikings ran over South Lake, Richmond, St. Stephens, Algonac, Marine City, Yale, and Cros-Lex before being tied by St. Clair. The tie with St. Clair in the final game of the season undoubtedly prevented us from annexing our second state championship in a row. We were rated fourth in the state in the newspaper polls this year. The 1962 squad extended our undefeated string to 20 games. Coach Sullivan, assisted by newcomer Coach Gary Lee, molded the team into a well organized hard-hitting, aggressive unit.
