The senior class of 1954, like other classes in the past, started off the year by sponsoring the annual homecoming. A queen was chosen by the students, and the game and dance were held in her honor. The next important activity was the all-school Christmas Party on December 23, 1953. The Black Cross was instru- mental in receiving donations for the Senior Relief Fund. The Christmas Sing, which is sponsored by the school council every year, had its highlight when the senior class sang M I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day. A small act was put on that showed Mary and the Lord Jesus, an Angel, and three Wise Men. Some of our talent will be shown off May 5 when we have our Senior Spotlight. The Senior Prom, which is being held in the new gym, is May 14. The seniors will be entertained when their unde rc las smates, the juniors, spon- sor the Junior -Senior Banquet on May 22. Remember, juniors, we went through the same thing last year! The Senior Assembly which features the will and prophecy will be presented May 25. This leaves us very little time to prepare for our trip to Mackinaw Is- land, for we leave on May 3G and returnon June 2. After we return we are ready for the biggest events of all-Baccalaureate and Commencement. Baccalaureate will be held on June 6, and Commencement, June 10. Then, leaving behind us all the happy and sorrowful times we have had, we shall face the future. We wish to thank our senior advisors, Mr . Gundry, Miss Mullen, Mr. Connolly and Mr. Burghdorf for all the help they have given us in the past school year. 22

The annual homecoming is sponsored every year by the senior class. As a result of this year ' s homecoming an alumni club was started. The Vikings topped off the homecoming game on October 10 by beat- ing Saint Stephens, 13-0. Rain didn ' t discourage the players before the game, but only seemed to encourage them. A dance was held in the junior high gym honoring the queen and her court. A party for the newly- organized Alumni Club was held in the recreation room. Coffee and donuts were served by the seniors. 24
