IQEWGIQD More than three centuries ago, a heroic band of men and women left their homes in a far-off land and crossed many miles of strange ocean in their quest for freedom. Their in- domitable spirit lifted them high above mere physical priva- tion and enabled them to reach a new world. We, of Maryland, are grateful to those immortal souls who planted their flag and principles firmly upon this soil. ln these chaotic times, we are well reminded of that dauntless spirit which gave our forefathers courage to leave their comfortable homes and journey to a distant and un- known shore, so that the right to live as free people and the right to worship according to their own dictates would not be denied them. Today, we are proud to say that this same spirit still en- dures. We are happy in the knowledge that we still preserve that which those brave people established here. This is our priceless heritage, and we have endeavored to portray it as the theme of this Right Angle in the hope that each of us will steadfastly resolve to defend forever this God- granted freedom.
