BIIRSLEM The Kodak Klub, the group boasting the largest membership at MPI-IS for the year 1941. conducts a very informational and entertaining program. Contests ranging in theme from landscapes to candid shots are sponsored. and awards are made during the regular club meetings. Artistic bulletin board displays are made periodically and excite much interest in the student body. BI.-XRCARET BROWN The Library Club has made some very worth- while changes in the library this year. The vocational guidance shelves have become more and more popular with Parkers. The bulletin board displays haxe been constantly alixe with current news. book reviews, new books, and pictures. DOHNEY These are the air-minded Parl-:ersf At regular meet- ings, the members discuss different models and mal-tes of aircraft. The club is composed of both girls and boys. Discussions on the merits and general construction points of the more successful craft followed. One of the outstanding achievements was the school Hold paper drive conducted by each homeroom. A prize was awarded to the room with the highest average. The club of 1941 boasts twenty- one members and has produced several fine plays. The fall play, '4Cirl Shy, featuring Ralph Anonsen and Faye Hutton in the stellar roles supported by an excellent cast of twelve, was a real dramatic tri- umph. 1941 HOME EC CLUB President ., , .......,, . NIARGARET DODDER The Maryland Park Home Ec Club took State honors again in 194-1. This is the third year MPHS has made the Slate Honor Roll for Home Ec Clubs. The publication of the Home EC Echoes. miIneO- graphed news-letter of the group, was continued with more and bettern news. recipes, prattle, and hints on beauticullure. A social program, which iIIcluded a benefit for the school, supplemented tlIe regular schedule of demonstrations, Ineetings, and parties. 1941 GIRLS GLEE CLUB Adviser ,. .,.,. . ..... MRs. BEIILAH WALL From the Music Department can be heard the melodious blending of the voices of the Girls Glee Club. This group, as in the years past, has provided entertaining interludes for many of the social func- tions at MPHS in 1941. These included the Minstrel Show, Talent Assembly, and the community Safety Program. These girls witlI picked voices meet for regular practices and place special emphasis on Christmas and Commencement music. BURSLEM The year 1941 records some really line achievements for the Student Patrol. Among these are the firm establishment of the order and conduct rules in the corridors, assistance in the supervision of school dances and basketball games, and close cooperation with the Student Council on the matter of handling habitual Offenders. SWISHER The Varsity Club composed of the athletes of MPHS, holds regular bi-monthly business meetings and assists in the management of the intramural athletics. The Club sponsored a social-recreational program through- out I94-1. The schedule included dancing, bowling, and deck tennis. A Tea Dance, Roller Skating Party, and Straw Ride were the high points of the social season.
