ilil ' E 1 i I Winter Formal Mary Star Did it in Style . . . On January 20th, the Winter Formal was held at the Reef in Long Beach. It took a lot of time and hard work to persuade the administration to allow the Seniors to hold a Formal. But, they came through and the Formal was a complete success. Maybe the food wasn ' t quite as good as everyone expected, but the dancing and socializing is what made the night. There was even a rumor going around that Boy George made a special appearance! ONE-HUNDRED AND TWO couples arrived rarin ' to go. The lights were dimmed and the Harbor lights glit- tered through the windows. What could be a better at- mosphere to spend an evening of romance in? There were four sweetheart couples, one couple from each class. Freshman — Matt Felando and Nanette Podue, Sophomore — Robby Lorenzi and Tina Urquides, Junior — Dragon Hrboka and Janet Trainotti, and Senior — Jef f Marchin and Amy Hershman. The best part of the whole evening was that no one got suspended! (WHEW!!!) Well, it looks like that from here on end, there will be more formals to come! 1. Junior Sweethearts: Dragon (Boy George) Hrboka and Janet Trainotti. 2. Freshman Sweethearts: Matt Felando and Nanette Podue 3 WE ' RE STYLIN! Lie Sept 62 Activities Section

TOWN Grover ' s Corners, New Hampshire November 12, 13, and 14, 1901 In August, the Drama Club began rehersals for this year ' s Fall production — Our Town . The cast had some dif- ficult tasks ... to present a play in pan- tomime and to achieve the New England accent, which is easier said than done. After a long summer of hard work, the Our Town cast overcame all obstacles and proudly presented their performance on November 12th, 13th and 14th. The actors should be congratulated for their authentic por- trayal of life and death. Our Town was a new dramatic experience in that it challenged not only the actors, but the audience to explore a profoundly relevant literary theme. Something to think about; Ms. Gibbs? Yes, Emily. They don ' t understand, do they? No dear, they don ' t understand. Activities 61
