VARSITY CLUB The Varsity Club ' s main purpose is to be a support organiza- tion for the school and the Boys ' Athletic Program. This year, the Varsity Club held events such as Powder Puff Football and during the spring semester, intramural sports. Under the direc- tion of Mr. Genarro DiMassa, the Varsity Club consists only of male athletes who participate on a Varsity team. The Girls ' Athletic Association is a club whose function is to support the growth of girls ' athletics at Mary Star of the Sea. This club consists of girl athletes; pep squad members, and other girls interested in sports. This year the G.A.A. has spon- sored such events as the Welcome Back Dance, the crowning of a Homecoming King during basketball season, and the G.A.A. Sports Award Banquet. VARSITY CHEERLEADERS Captain Gina Katnich Co-Capt. Renee Marinkovich The 1983-1984 Varsity Cheerleaders consisted of 10 girls. Working together with the Songleaders, they helped to sup- port the teams by promoting spirit and enthusiasm at games and pep rallies. This year ' s squad added a new dimension to cheerleading at Mary Star. With the help and direction of Teri Katnich, they entered various competitions throughout the year.
