Worthy adversaries included Notre Dame and Bishop Montgomery; Mary Star placed fourth in the Sunshine League. Instructed by coaches Perkins and Hopper, the key weapons of the Star Power House proved to be the sure-fire spiking of Michelle Ogle, the smooth setting techni- ques of Jenny Kordich, and the awesome serving ability of Chris Skacan. Although the team finished in the shadow of their past performances, they com- bined together to place second in the annual Hawthorne Tournament. 93
