Sandwiched between two pre-season losses and two season ending defeats was a six game winning streak whic h saw the Stars rated third in the Desert-Mountain Conference. Paul Pereira and Jewgy Ponce de Leon led the Stars running game. Joe Cortez provided the team with excellent pass- ing, while David Clinton was highly suc- cessful at his receiver spot. Co-captain Will Stipanovich led an aggressive defensive unit which allowed only 57 points in 11 games. Defensive standouts included Art Bieler, Pete Costa, John Ludwig, Mike Kucura, Doug Collins, Mike Palmer, John Mascola and Jerry Duhovic.
