We Got Spirit, Yes We Do The athletic year got off to a rollicking start with a spirited pep rally just before the opening of the 1981 football season. With the Rolling Hills game just hours away the 1981-82 Pep Squads assembl- ed the school together and performed stunts and routines. The long hours of hard work paid off as the squads per- formed magnificently. Competition for the school spirit stick was fierce as the classes tried to outdo one another.

The Eighties, the New Decg ' e 1980 started out with a new president, Ronald Reagan. The new decade is very refreshing compared to the somber seventies. Fashion in the ' 80 ' s changed very much from the ' 70 ' s. Girls were wearing, knickers , mini- skirts , metallic colors, and in ' 80 the western style was hip . Guys wore emblemed polo shirts, short hair, and got rid of their designer jeans. Levi ' s and concert jerseys are timeless. Fads that were mod were, the Rubik ' s cube , video games, jogging, and Sony walkmen. r In 80 ' 81 rock n ' roll proved that it was definitely here to stay. The Rolling Stones asserted themselves again as, The World ' s Greatest Rock n ' Roll Band , with a 40 million dollar tour of the U.S. The Police, Rick James, Go-Go ' s, Pat Benatar, and AC DC emerged as supergroups for the ' 80 ' s. Bruce Springsteen captured the publics imagination as no one had for years, this challenge: dare to be great. And in this new decade we can ex- pect many more trends, public events, fads, and changes in the music we listen to. Below are the results of a poll distributed throughout the Class of 82.
