Three Quarters of the Way to Victory The 1981-82 Varsity Basketball team dazzled the many star fans with offensive and defensive plays. The memb ers of the team were faced with much opposition. Paul Hobus, Craig Johnson, Danny Stevens, and a late surge by Steve Trainotti tried to outwit many competitors, but to no avail. They won two consolation championships in the St. Monica and Hawthrone Tournaments. They ended the entire season with a 8-14 record. Many of the key players will return to make a fresh start in the 1981-83 year. li . 98 1. First year coach, Charles Johnson, guided the Stars through their most competitive schedule ever. 2. MSHS Varsity: Top row — Danny Stevens, Paul Hobus, Paul Gaines, John Schafer. Middle row — Mike Palmer, Richard Aceves, Dan Arevalo, David Clinton.
