Girls' Glee Club The Girls' glee club, under the direction of Miss Elizabeth Miller, is composed of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The glee club, combined with the Boys' glee club, presented the operetta Rose of the Danube on April 28-29 with Jeanne Corkran and John Reynolds in the leading roles. Ten members of the club went to Huntington last fall as representatives to the All-State Chorus. Those members were Jeanne Corkran, Mary Jane Burkhart, Florence Flagg, Marjory Wallace, Sarah Arnett, Elise Swope, Jean Reynolds, Rose Lee Snyder, Geraldine Aikens, and Frances Lamp. Boys' Glee Club The Boys' glee club under the direction of Mr. James Andrews has completed a very successful year. The glee club is divided into two parts, one the upper glee club composed of members from the sophomore, junior, and senior classes, and the other one composed of members of the freshman class. The glee club sent six boys to the All-State chorus at Huntington. They were John Reynolds, Thomas Clapham, Billy Widmeyer, Donald Clark, Wendell Shrader, Fred Snyder. On Feb. lZ the boys presented an assembly program which featured group and individual singf ing. On April 28-29 the boys helped present the operetta Rose of the Danube. There's music Bond The band, under the direction of Roderick Linger, has completed a year of wide activity. The band won Hrsr place in competition at the Turkey Festival in Harrisonburg, Virginia. They participated in several parades, among them the Mummer's Parade in Hagerstown, Md., the Apple Harvest Parade in Martinsburg, and the Tomato Festival Parade in Berkeley Springs. The band gave several open air concerts, and two concerts in the high school auditorium. Eugene Price, trombonist, won the American Legion Music Medal as the outstanding member of the band.
