Good communication may serve as a vital thread that can tie differing nations and cul- tures together. Always striving to serve the students' needs and prepare them for future years, Marshfield offers an excellent language curriculum including courses in Spanish, French, Russian, and Latin. Geared to provide a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of the three modern conversa- tional languages desired by the high school Pam Brumbraugh practices her French in the language lab. Students wishing a good background and knowledge of a language are aided by the use of a modern, well-equipped language lab, conversation records, and textbooks. Nor is the study of ancient language neglected. Latin, a language which has nourished and enriched the English language itself, proved valuable and interesting to many students. The department underwent a considerable change in personnel with the addition of Mrs. Ora Niemela in French and Mr. Dale Wakem in Latin.
