'6+'l': THE LEAVES 1926 2-4-44- zmzbr Clan' Early in the semester the class of '27 chose Creston Reese for president, Marjorie Johnson for vice presidentg Betty Ahrens for secretary and Everett Newcomer for treasurer. A little later a meeting was held for the purpose of choosing a class sponsor. Mr. Hancock was elected to this position. NVork was started on the junior play and all those who were not working at rehearsals did their part later selling tickets. The members of the east who presented Come Out of the Kitchenn were William Smith, Dwight Vllileox, Robert Merrill, Betty Ahrens, Dorothy Mueller, Grace YVilson, Edward Buch- wald, Merle Johnson, Jane Bovee, Katherine Qualen, James Carpenter and Robert Valentine. The ability of this cast pleased large audiences in the gym- nasium on the nights ot' November 27 and 28. Other juniors took part in the one act plays and in the extemporaneous speak- ing contest. The class was well represented in athletics throughout the year by Jesse Bowers. George Miller, Carl Noid, Everett Newcomer, Alfred Nichols, Walter Miller, Horace Miller, Stephen Pettit, Austen Turner, Edward Templar and Theodore Swedburg. Attractive pins and ri11gs were voted 011 before the Christmas vacation.
