Like the pieces of a puzzle scattered about and slowly being assembled, piece by piece; so goes time. With time these have been lost forever, never to return. The job of piecing together what remains lies with everyone. With time, we may piece together the puz- zles of our lives. As time has passes through this past decade, it has proven that many of the pieces of the puzzle are forever lost. The holes within the puzzle of Marshall show through. With each year some part was lost. Some still unknown to us. When we will discover the missing piece, only time will tell. The beginning of the 70's saw Mar- shall University as 'ta university in crisis . t Sometimes time seems unjust, an emotional change in our environment, placing difficult times upon us. The year 1970 brought such moments to reality. Marshall University. November 14, 1979, sorrow, and grief reflect about the campus with the loss of Classmates, friends, and loved ones, the 1970 Thundering Herd, gone for- ever, remembered and missed. A hole Through the looking glass of objectivity. . has appeared in the puzzle, somet is missing - not just a football te. with staff and fans. Much mose is m ing. for more than one hole has peered in the puzzle of Marshallls tory. With such events, in everyo minds, one continuous question ari why, why, WHY? The questions remain unanswer Marshall passes through a sev month period without a president. a er vacancies within the administrat drugs, riots, the loss of a football 1e and of course money problems t.

The university again ces a tragic loss and again, rebuild- 9 must begin. Have the building blocks been layed. nly time will show, or tell, T . has -ssed and taken along with it Stu Ab- deen. a man who brought new life to Marshall sports. HA hero has fallen , . . and we need him. Will the picture ever take shape? Again pieces that are needed to hold the unit together are missing. Time has passed by so quickly since he came here. Bringing what we hoped would be some of the missing pieces that Marshall so desperately needs Time will show if the pieces added belong and will work in to continue to build together. For time has again repealed, already adding a new coach. Other faces have arrived at Marshall to bring a new decade. What wm nme have in store for Marshall during the next dec- ade? Will Marshall progress at 23 emails pace or will the progress be measured in leaps and bounds? Will the continual question be asked: why, why, WHY? What if the pieces we have yet to com- plete do not fit? Will the light go down on Marshall? Could the best years have come and gone? ; - MR
