FoREWoRD Here, within the pages of this book, Lives an ideal, , A place to impart basics, Our planning-house for the future, We walk through silent halls, Empty because classrooms are full, This is the foundation, The intellectual stimulant, Here in a land of brick, steel, and stone, Growing with the dedication of those within, We see a man clouded with laboratory vapors. He is progress through knowledge, Somewhere a student opens a book, The day the two meet, ' Brick, steel, and stone turn to education. A teacher speaks, A student listens, Suddenly a union forms, ' l Some of us fail before the union, Others mistakingly accept it as the ultimate goal, Yet there is always the enlightenedl mind, Which seeing knowledge, Moves toward self-perfection, l This is the final search, A man on his own, i Working through the dark hours of the night, Collecting and saving for the future, Through a lonely and self-satisfying vigil, Sometime in the future personalities may be forgotten, But never those ideas which linked them, These links with truth and knowledge created maturity Basic learning applicable to a meaningful life, A finished work by an educational craftsman, A person now capable of educating others, A mobile and dynamic human classroom.
