hctuonA. The Freshmen Class and Homecoming elections in the fall and the Student Body elections in the spring high- lighted the year ' s political scene. An added attraction for the campus to observe this year was the extra election caused by the tie for Fresh- man Class Homecoming Queen. Each election was charac- terized by attractive posters, long banners, hand shaking, campaign promises and fa- tigued candidates at the end of the balloting day. But, after the votes were counted, signs taken down and the winners announced, both the winning and losing sides agreed that their col- lege career was made richer by meeting new people and gaining experience in the ex- citement of running for an of- fice or sitting on the queen ' s throne. Freshmen candidates for office really show their enthusiasm trying for that vote. Practicing the.: ; ;:. : ;:. r.j..; 1 :.
